Spring Cleaning Time!
When we think of spring, we’re reminded of the resurgence of life as trees, grass and flowers once again burst into bloom after the long and cold dormant winter months. The old brown debris gives way to the new green life; it’s a time of rebirth!
Perhaps now is the time to clean out closets or the garage from all that accumulated stuff, and maybe gather together unwanted items you no longer want but could be just right for someone else. Bundle them and give them away! As you de-clutter your space you open up for the new to come to you. As humans we seem to accumulate a lot of stuff, but when you let go of it you rarely if ever think of it again.
Are you hanging onto some old beliefs that don’t serve you any longer? Are you living with doubt, worry, lack or fear even though you know you shouldn’t because it is getting in your way of forward movement? It’s time to release all those negative thoughts and feelings and toss them to the wind so you can move forward through love and create the life you truly want.
Your body, in its natural rhythm, cleanses itself of its own accord about this time every year. In sync with nature, your body innately knows to dump toxins so your body can be renewed. Some cleansing herbs can assist during this time of cleansing since we live in such a toxic world and are overloaded with them. A Bemer or sauna session can further assist the process to clear your body of unwanted toxins or pounds, or using the foot bath we have at the center.
There is a constant ebb and flow throughout life, a necessary occurrence of releasing the old to make way for the new. But so often individuals want to continue hanging onto negative feelings or beliefs and get in their own way. People become attached to beliefs, hurts, material things and people, and that very attachment prevents them from achieving their desires. Then they wonder why their intentions or desires aren’t happening. In addition, it keeps them small because they are giving away their power to that person, emotion or thing.
What I’ve learned along my journey is to go with the flow of life. To me this means to allow whatever happens to happen without blocking it, because if it happens there is a reason, a very important reason it occurred. My fiancé and I recently combined two houses into one, but what we discovered is there is way too much to fit. So this means we had to release and discard many things, releasing the attachment we had to them, the resistance to the process. As we released things, it has become kind of fun – like an adventure.
But even greater than releasing material possessions is the release of how you think things should be.
Perhaps you lost your job or took a pay cut, or maybe you fear you might lose your job. Do you have to change your residence and are resisting? Are you trying to hold onto a relationship that you know inside does not serve your highest good, yet you are afraid of being alone or maybe just fear the change? The secret is to go inside and listen to your heart, then allow whatever you feel to unfold. It is the fear and resistance that blocks your forward movement so that the cleaning process doesn’t happen and the clutter remains.
So think right now about your life. What things are pushed in the back of your closet that need to be cleaned out and discarded? What are you holding onto that really is not for your best interest? What beliefs need changing so you can create a different and better life?
Sit quietly and meditate on these things. Ask God to help you become aware of what needs to be released and then ask for help to do it. You may have to do this many times before you actually can let it go, but once you do you are Free!
You know it feels good when you clean out a closet or the garage and everything is in its rightful place and easy to locate! And you know how good it feels after you experience a good releasing cry or after you have released some old habit or pattern, so that you see more clearly and feel so much better. The reason is that you have freed up the energy to flow instead of being weighted down with negativity and clutter. Take time right now to let go of whatever is not serving your highest good and make a plan to do your spring cleaning now, whether in your physical house, emotional house, mental house, or spiritual house.
