Circle of Grace

Circle of Grace Introduction

This class is for those who are looking for a deeper and more meaningful prayer and reflection experience.  It is designed for those who wish to raise their awareness of the presence of a Higher Power in their lives and who wish to explore the awe and mystery that comes from a life of deep contemplation and reflection.  This class is non-denominational and does not promote any specific religions or philosophies.  None-the-less, we will attempt to create an atmosphere of holiness and deep reverence.  This class is not a substitute for spiritual direction, but can be thought of as a tool for enhancing spiritual growth and authenticity.

We will explore the ways in which we pray, including examining our motives and personal agendas as well as our personal expectations and perceptions of God or Higher Power.  Do we pray for ourselves and others?  If so, what do these prayers sound like?  Are we giving God our shopping list?  Do we take the time to sit quietly and wait for answers?  Do we bargain pray?  Do we pray for healing for ourselves and others?  Is it OK to ask for things such as relationships and prosperity?  Of course asking is OK, but becoming conscious requires that we take a deep and searching look at our motives for asking.  We know what we want, but do we really know what we need?  Do we ever engage in the act of prayer, simply to commune with a Higher Power, with no personal agenda?

What does it mean to pray for guidance?  And how do we learn to discern the different voices that we hear?  How do we know the difference between our voice and the voice of God or a Higher Power, or the voice of our guides and angels?  What does guidance look like, sound like?  Can guidance come in the form of dreams?  How do we block guidance and what to do when we’re feeling blocked?  When we receive guidance, do we need it to be “reasonable”, according to human logic?  Do we need it to be “reasonable” in the eyes of the world?  Do we have the humility and the strength of soul to carry out that guidance, even if we fear what others will think of us?

These are some of the questions we will address in the Circle of Grace.  We hope you'll come join us at Where Miracles Happen!
